The Florida Eels are thrilled to announce their first College Commitment for the this season.

Taurin Haddon-Harris has committed to NCAA Division III Curry College, located in Milton, Mass.

Haddon-Harris, a native of Boca Raton, Fla., is captain of the Eels Premier team.

“Taurin is one of the toughest competitors who ever wore an Eels jersey. You know when he is on the ice. He dominates every shift,” said Head Coach Frankie Scarpaci. “No doubt, [he is] the best player on either team when he is out there. He does it all: scores, sets players up, captures assists, best at puck retrieval, relentless on the fore-check and equally strong on the backcheck. Taurin just broke the record for the Florida Eels all-time leader in single season points when he scored his 72nd and 73rd points in a game recently.

His accomplishments have been recognized and honored by the USPHL. Haddon-Harris has repeatedly been chosen as “Player of the Week” and selected by the league as “Player of the Month” several times this season.

He was selected as “Mid-Season All Star” by The Dan K Show. Additionally, Haddon-Harris is a phenomenal leader on and off the ice. GM Frank Scarpaci emphatically refers to Haddon-Harris as “the MVP in this league, bar none. He plays an extremely high-tempo game -unwavering commitment to his team and has an unequaled will to win.”

Haddon-Harris has been one of the top recruited players by NCAA college coaches. GM Scarpaci has received a plethora of calls on him. After every game and showcase he has been the topic of college coaches’ inquiry. Despite these accolades, Haddon-Harris is a very humble player. He always credits his teammates and coaches for the wins and his and his team’s success.

He is very excited about becoming a Curry College Colonel. He has done his due diligence and loves what Curry College offers both academically and with its hockey program.

Curry College has a rich New England tradition and a storied legacy. Haddon-Harris is also very excited and enthusiastic about playing for Head Coach Peter Roundy. Coach Roundy is building a solid program at Curry with a bright future ahead.

Taurin knows his job is not done here with the Eels. They are hoping to return to the National Championship game this year and win this time around.

“We are a team on a mission. We know what got away from us last year as it slipped through our fingers. That won’t be the case this year,” said Haddon-Harris.

As Captain, he intends to lead his team all the way, he plans to leave and bestow a major mark on the Eels. He loves playing here and is a true champion.

The Florida Eels  wish Taurin Haddon-Harris the very best. This is another milestone for the Florida Eels and their 290th college commitment from the program.
